We consider technology a great tool...but only if it empowers the individuals who use it. Our business is to
make work easier for our clients, communications between them and their clients more meaningful, and
to increase sales potential through cost-effective (mostly free) saturation advertising.
We formally began doing business in 2004, though some from this 'family' of computer and publishing
experts has been collaborating together as far back as 1990.
"Robert was building databases for the State Of California back then. He knew James. James knew me. Steve played on the same softball team as Tim, who knew both Robert Michael and I.... Coming together under one roof was sort of a natural metamorphosis," April says. "It didn't happen quickly, but I think the slow, gradual dependencies we all developed toward one another in business made for trusting relationships. And that is very important."
The company conducts its daily business through a VPN (Virtual Private Network). Essentially, everyone in the company works from various (and sometimes varying) locations, connected together through the magic of digital technology.
Our Managing Editor puts it this way:
"It's a little like working in one of those corporate cubicles where you're connected to everyone through a network and have to peek over a partition to see the person in the cubicle next to you. The difference for us is, there is no partition. Through the VPN, I can work from my office at home or my mother's kitchen for that matter. Group interfacing with the others is usually by way of Net Meeting or cell phone. It's funny, but when we all actually do get together, I always have to fight an urge to logout when I leave."
Thirty new regional magazines are scheduled to share internet traffic by end of Quarter-1, 2007. An additional thirty-nine are scheduled for inclusion by end of Quarter-2, totaling seventy interlinked magazines with a shared readership estimated to reach five-million readers monthly.
Sonya Richards, of Shear Realty in Hesperia California, recently wrote to us and said: "I want to thank you for the wonderful job you are doing for all of us. The [magazine]
is not only informative and professional but allows us to reach a tremendous amount of prospects. Presently I have gotten 1 listing and 1 referral, both clients were extremely
impressed with the way my properties were presented. Thank You for your time spent and for your hard work."
Thank you, Sonya, and to all the realtors who have joined as members of My Victor Valley. And here's to the thousands of future realtors who will reap the benefits of cost-effective online advertising and promotion as well. 2007 should be a very very good year for all of us.
